My experience with Rebekah and Matison was fantastic!Rebekahs thorough prenatal care, genuine thoughtfulness, and encouragement during my homebirth made a significant impact in my overall experience. The post birth care was excellent, too! They both remained attentive to our needs, and I did not hesitate to call if I had any questions during the newborn phase.I had some trouble breastfeeding my son in the beginning, and I was worried about being able to nurse him. Rebekah encouraged me to keep going (if it was something that I wanted to do), and she provided several resources to help me. She suggested an awesome lactation consultant that really helped guide me through the issues we had.Rebekah checked on me several times throughout that process! Here we are eight months later and still going strong with nursing!Rebekah and Matison were both wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with them.I would not hesitate to have my next homebirth with Shade Tree Midwifery!

We bought two trees from D&B after looking at the reviews and then visiting their location on Hwy 620 . Since reviews are important, I figured I should post my experience so it may help others. The first tree we purchased did well . We paid for them to plant it and got the 1 year warranty . The tree did well and we didnt mind their higher prices . We purchased a second tree a few years back and they planted it . The tree did not do well . The planting was done in fall, and the tree showed signs of life in spring . It was not doing great, but it was a different variety of tree and we didnt know how much growth should be expected . But, there was growth and the tree was alive . Then came winter and the leaves fell and never came back in spring . But, now it was more than a year old and out of warranty . Knowing that, I still thought they would respect the fact that this was my second purchase from them and may honor their warranty . So, I went to their location in spring and explained the situation . They gave me many reasons for why the tree may have died, like not enough water, too much water and how everyone says they took care of the tree but nobody can be sure etc . I understand that it is hard to know what was done to the tree, but I was the same person who took care of the first tree and I know how to water and take care of it . I thought they might be more understanding about what happened, but they werent.I then decided that I should go and look at trees at the big box stores, who also have a 1 year warranty and their prices are much cheaper boxwoods dying 2023 . Yes, D&B has a huge inventory and many more sizes and types of trees, but what is the point of paying two to three times as much if the tree dies ? They planted a bad tree and wouldnt stand by it, even for a repeat customer.I wont be going there again.

My wife and I were very pleased with the work done to our 7 trees. The work was done very meticulously and with extreme care for the health of the trees. I will continue to use their tree service in the coming years.

Choosing the right tree species for your landscape is crucial to ensure its long-term health and aesthetic appeal. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to make the right decision. This section will guide you through the factors to consider when selecting a tree species for your Houston landscape.

1. Climate Compatibility

The first factor to consider is the climate of your area. Houston has a warm and humid subtropical climate, which means that certain tree species are better suited for this region. It is important to choose trees that can withstand the heat, humidity, and occasional extreme weather events common to Houston.

2. Soil Conditions

Understanding the soil conditions in your landscape is essential in determining the right tree species. Houston has a diverse range of soil types, including clay, sandy, and loamy soils. Different tree species have different soil preferences, so it is important to choose trees that can thrive in the specific soil conditions of your landscape.

3. Size and Space Requirements

Consider the available space in your landscape when selecting a tree species. Some trees have a large spread and height at maturity, while others are more compact. It is important to choose a tree species that fits well within your available space and will not cause any future issues with utility lines, structures, or neighboring properties.

4. Maintenance Needs

Another important factor to consider is the maintenance requirements of the tree species. Some trees require regular pruning, while others may have specific watering or fertilization needs. Assess your ability to provide the necessary maintenance before selecting a tree species.

5. Aesthetic Appeal

When it comes to selecting trees for a farm, one crucial factor that is often overlooked is the analysis of the soil. Understanding the composition and characteristics of the soil is essential in determining the suitability of a tree farm site and ensuring the long-term health and success of the trees.

Soil analysis provides valuable information about the nutrient levels, pH balance, and texture of the soil. These factors directly impact the growth and development of trees, as different tree species have specific soil requirements. By conducting a thorough soil analysis, tree farmers can make informed decisions about which tree species to plant based on the soil's ability to meet their needs.

In addition to nutrient levels and pH balance, soil analysis also reveals important information about the soil's drainage capacity and water-holding capacity. Proper drainage is crucial to prevent waterlogged soil, which can lead to root rot and other diseases. Similarly, a soil's ability to retain water is vital in ensuring that trees have access to an adequate water supply, especially during dry periods.

Furthermore, soil analysis can help identify any potential issues or deficiencies in the soil that may affect tree growth. For example, a soil analysis may reveal high levels of salt or heavy metals, which can be harmful to certain tree species. By identifying these issues beforehand, tree farmers can take appropriate measures to amend the soil or select tree species that are more tolerant of these conditions.

In summary, conducting a soil analysis is a critical step in tree farm selection. By understanding the soil's composition and characteristics, tree farmers can choose tree species that are well-suited to the site's conditions, ensuring optimal growth and long-term success of their tree farm.

Climate plays a significant role in determining the suitability of certain tree species for a particular area. Different trees have different temperature and moisture requirements, and selecting trees that are well-adapted to Houston's climate can greatly increase their chances of thriving. By understanding the climate patterns, such as average temperatures, rainfall, and humidity levels, you can make informed decisions about which trees will thrive in your farm.

Weather conditions also play a vital role in tree growth and health. Extreme weather events, such as hurricanes, strong winds, and droughts, can have a detrimental impact on trees. By considering the weather patterns in Houston, you can choose trees that are more resilient to these conditions and are better equipped to withstand potential damage.

Additionally, understanding the microclimates within your farm can further optimize tree growth. Certain areas of your farm may experience variations in temperature, sunlight exposure, or soil moisture. By identifying these microclimates, you can select tree species that are most suitable for each specific area, maximizing their chances of thriving and reaching their full potential.

Overall, a thorough understanding of the climate and weather conditions in Houston is essential for making informed decisions when selecting trees for your farm. By considering these factors, you can ensure optimal tree growth, minimize potential damage from extreme weather events, and create a healthy and productive tree farm.

Tree Farm Maintenance Tips for Healthy and Vibrant Trees

Ensuring the health and vibrancy of trees in a tree farm is essential for their growth and longevity. Proper tree farm maintenance involves a combination of regular care, attention to detail, and understanding the unique needs of different tree species.

One important aspect of tree farm maintenance is providing adequate water and irrigation. Trees require a consistent and sufficient water supply to thrive. Monitoring soil moisture levels and adjusting irrigation accordingly is crucial to avoid under or overwatering. Additionally, mulching around the base of trees can help retain moisture and regulate soil temperature.

Another key factor in tree farm maintenance is proper pruning. Regular pruning helps maintain the shape and structure of trees, promotes airflow, and removes dead or diseased branches. It is important to follow correct pruning techniques and timing for each tree species to prevent damage and promote healthy growth.

Tree farm maintenance also involves monitoring and controlling pests and diseases. Regular inspections of trees for signs of infestation or disease can help identify and address issues early on. Implementing integrated pest management practices, such as using natural predators or organic treatments, can help minimize the use of chemical pesticides.

Proper nutrition is essential for the health and vitality of trees in a tree farm. Conducting soil tests and providing appropriate fertilization based on the specific needs of each tree species is crucial. Understanding the nutrient requirements and pH levels of the soil can help ensure optimal growth and development.

Regular monitoring of tree farm health is necessary to catch any problems early. This includes observing changes in tree appearance, growth patterns, or leaf color. Promptly addressing any issues can help prevent further damage and maintain the overall health and vibrancy of the tree farm.

Insurance and Certifications

When selecting a tree service provider, it is essential to verify their insurance coverage and certifications. A professional company should have liability insurance to protect you and your property in case of any accidents or damages during the tree service. Customer Reviews and Reputation

To ensure you choose a reliable tree service provider, take the time to read customer reviews and assess their reputation. Look for testimonials and feedback from previous clients to get an idea of the quality of their services. A reputable company will have positive reviews and a good reputation within the community.

Cost and Estimates

Keep in mind that the cheapest option may not always be the best, as quality and expertise are crucial when it comes to tree care.
