The Rapid Response to Dangerous Tree Situations in Houston

Angel Tree service was prompt in setting up an appointment to take a backyard tree down . They took special care in making sure they were careful taking down the tree tvec connect . It was no easy feat with an above ground pool and a fence to contend with . Left backyard picked up and very clean . I highly recommend this business!

I definitely do not recommend this company. I have lived in our house for 3 years. After the freeze we had a lot of dead garden plants and paid someone to redo our garden. They must have used bad quality fill dirt because our garden became riddled with weeds. We never had a single weed in the three years we’d lived here until they redid our garden. So we hired H&H Landscaping to fix this problem. I know some weeds are inevitable, but we hard weeds in every quarter inch. I hold H&H Landscaping all I want is for the weed issue to be gone. I don’t care what they have to do, my only concern is the mass amount of weeds. They assured me they could handle the job, that this was an easy job. We paid over $800 and all they did was hand pull the weeds and put mulch on top. They trimmed two trees and brought us a rose bush. That is it. They did this job on Thursday, July 20, by Sunday July 23 our garden already had a ton of weeds growing through. This is unacceptable and of poor quality. I texted to ask about this and they said to “keep an eye on it and weed when we see fit”. One of the men working on our garden told me to call them to come back every two weeks to weed the garden for us. What? They distinctly told me they could take care of the weeds “no problem”. Well, we have a problem. There are still weeds, a ton of them. So I called my bank to withhold payment, and this was only after trying to reach out to have the problem resolved, and suddenly they were too busy to help. They did finally send a crew out to put down the weed barrier, however they didnt have enough mulch to cover it, so the weed barrier is still poking through, and they only put weed barrier down on one half of the garden. so half my garden has an overgrowth of weeds. What an absolute waste of money. I could have done this and saved myself $600. I was lied to and completely ripped off. I thought we were dealing with professionals but that is not what we experienced. I would not recommend them unless you need a tree trimmed. That’s about it. I have attached photos of the work done, and this is AFTER they came back out to fix the problem...It looks horrible and its just a month later. I was as polite as possible, and waited a long time to write a review because I didnt want to do it in anger, but I am still very upset and disappointed. They never reached back out to see if the job was satisfactory, they just seemed annoyed that I was asking them to do what I paid for and they seemed put out with me. I just want the job done right and I want what we paid for. Not this.September 13,2023I am responding to the reply I was given. This is quite frankly untrue. I told you guys I wanted my entire garden ripped out and only one row of bushes left because I did not want to deal with the weeds. I said sod the whole thing. YOUR man, said he did not have to do that. This was an EASY job and that he would take care of the weeds. He said hes done work for the University of Houston and this was a small job, he did not have to pull the weeds in order to get rid of the weeds, his crew could handle it. it was not until AFTER I complained about there being weeds that he went back on his previous statement and said oh actually I cant take care of the weeds. If that was true, then he should have pulled the garden and quoted me to sod the whole area instead of talking me out of that because he guarantied no weeds. As of today, no one has reached back out to me to correct this issue as was said in the reply. I also think it is worth mentioning that almost every single one of my bushes DIED after they came back and put in a root barrier. I have a sprinkler system so it was not the draught. Also, the other half of the garden (Where they did NOT put in a weed barrier) none of my bushes died on that side. So not only did they NOT do the job I paid them for, after coming back to remedy their mistake they killed my bushes. I will try to upload photos of all my dead bushes, next to my sprinkler system so they cant claim it was the draught and lack of water.

We’ve been going to get our tree at Martin Farms for at least 15 years midwest trees . Friendly service, good selections, and a beautiful drive from Fulshear!

We used Rangel at the suggestion of our neighbor, who was having a large tree limb removed. We were initially a bit upset when they were done, as a few branches over our house we thought were being removed were still up, and some damage had been done to our fence. After discussing with Kevin, the crew lead, though, they came back to work, trimmed everything we wanted, and compensated us very fairly for the minor damage. Its not true of every tree care company, but these guys were ultimately professional and considerate; I strongly suspect they ended up taking a loss on the job, but they still came back to make it right.

When it comes to ensuring the safety of residents and preventing property damage, identifying hazardous trees plays a crucial role in the rapid response to dangerous tree situations in Houston. Understanding the characteristics and signs of a hazardous tree is essential for tree service professionals and homeowners alike.

Tree Species Susceptible to Hazardous Conditions

  • Some tree species in Houston are more prone to developing hazardous conditions than others. For example, pine trees are known to be susceptible to pine beetle infestations, which can weaken the tree's structure and make it more likely to fall during storms.
  • Other species, such as oak trees, may develop diseases like oak wilt, which can lead to significant decline and potential collapse.

Signs of a Hazardous Tree

Recognizing the signs of a hazardous tree is crucial for early detection and intervention. Some common signs to look out for include:

  • Leaning: Trees that have a noticeable lean, especially if the lean is sudden or has increased over time, may be at risk of falling.
  • Cavities and Decay: Visible signs of decay, such as cavities or hollow sections, can indicate a weakened tree structure.
  • Cracks and Splits: Cracks or splits in the tree trunk or major branches may indicate structural weakness and potential failure.
  • Dead Branches: Dead branches or branches with significant dieback can pose a risk of falling, especially during high winds.
  • Root Issues: Trees with exposed roots, heaving soil around the base, or signs of root decay may be at risk of instability.

Identifying these signs early on can help tree service professionals assess the level of risk and take appropriate action, such as tree removal or pruning, to mitigate potential hazards.

Tree inspections play a crucial role in preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of individuals and property. By conducting regular inspections, tree service professionals can identify potential risks and take necessary measures to mitigate them, reducing the likelihood of accidents caused by falling trees or branches.

During tree inspections, trained professionals carefully assess the overall health and structural integrity of trees. They examine factors such as the tree's age, species, and previous maintenance history to determine its level of stability and potential hazards. Additionally, they inspect for signs of disease, decay, or insect infestation that could weaken the tree and make it susceptible to failure.

Inspections also involve evaluating the tree's proximity to structures, power lines, and other potentially vulnerable areas. Professionals assess whether the tree's growth patterns or root system pose a risk to nearby infrastructure, ensuring appropriate measures are taken to prevent accidents or damage. This comprehensive approach allows experts to identify and address potential risks before they escalate into dangerous situations.

Furthermore, tree inspections provide an opportunity to assess the need for pruning or trimming. By removing dead or overhanging branches, professionals can eliminate potential hazards, reducing the risk of falling debris during severe weather events. Regular maintenance, identified through inspections, helps maintain the health and longevity of trees while ensuring the safety of people and property.

In conclusion, tree inspections are a critical component of preventing accidents related to trees. By conducting thorough assessments, tree service professionals can identify potential risks, address them promptly, and implement necessary preventive measures. These inspections not only safeguard individuals and property but also contribute to the overall health and well-being of urban environments.
