Wow. My encounter with owner, Sharon, has left me wondering whether shes got some rabies going on. I went to the camp office to pay parking and visitors fees so that I could visit with family members who had rented campsites. Sharon took my cash payment, and gave me a parking pass. She told me I absolutely could not leave the car where I had parked it in front of the office, even though I followed signs that read parallel parking only, pull forward, remarking that there is no parking for visitors. She told me to move the car over there, gesturing towards the other side of the driveway, where there was no identified parking area. When I asked for clarification whether she wanted me to park on the grass by the trees, she instantly began a confrontational tirade. She shook her finger at me and accused me of giving her attitude from the second I stepped in the door. This was bizarre and unfounded. She repeated several times that she has complete discretion over who gets in, and also threatened to eject me from the premises. I dont know where this came from, I had only asked a question so that I could understand where she wanted me to park. I pointed this out, said nothing further, and waited out the rant. Once she wound down, I moved the car, driving the whole way through the park to get to the opposite side of the driveway because it is one way only, 5 mph, as she told me. I was observed the whole time by owner, Jamie, from his 4-wheeler.I found out my camping family members also had issues with Sharon and Jamie. The family had rented four RV spots for four days. One of the four had to cancel last minute for a medical issue. They had expected to forfeit the deposit for that site, but had paid for the whole stay in advance. The owners tried to keep the whole payment, not just the deposit, even though they had reassigned the unused spot to another unrelated camper. Nobody understood why the owners would put an unrelated RV in the middle of the other three reservations. The grounds didnt even look to be half full. I wonder whether it was meant to be spiteful.Jamie, on 4-wheeler, had also followed another visitors car into the campsite. He yelled at her for getting a toddler and an infant out of car seats to leave them with the family before returning to the office to register and pay. She only wanted to avoid repeated transfers in and out of carseats for this process. Did they really expect her to walk back carrying two babies and their diaper bags?Had I read the other reviews before going there, I would not have been surprised at the way the owners behave. As it was, I contacted KOA Corporate because I thought they should know how these owners are treating paying guests and representing the KOA name. I dont think they care. I got back a stock response, suggesting I should speak directly with the campground for resolution because it is an independently owned franchise. They also offered this gem, Please know that this experience is not necessarily indicative of the experience you will have at this campground again, nor does it reflect on what your experience will be at another KOA campground. Judging by the other reviews Ive now seen, it is EXACTLY the experience I should have expected, from Erie KOA, at least.Erie KOA is actually registered as a fictitious name being used by the Sharmie Corporation. It seems to me that good customer relations at Erie KOA are also fictitious. I will never go there again, my family will never go there again, and Im pretty sure the fellow RV-ers they network with will never go there at all.

I love Dollar Tree, I especially like it because the service is very good and the employees provide excellent service.

We had a bald-faced hornet nest growing on our tree overhanging our walkway that needed to go ! My husband called and left a message on Saturday, by Monday morning Ryan called us back and said he could come out straight away that same day . Ryan was right on time and explained the entire removal and treatment process with incredible knowledge . My 4 year old was quite curious about the hornets and without any question Ryan explained in easy to understand terms all about the specific type of hornet . Ryan was so kind with my daughter and he safely let her see what the dead hornet looked like after removal of the home . He was even so kind to give her a sticker and she was so thrilled does the smell of cedar repel insects . The entire process took less than 10 minutes and Ryan assured me the treatment would take care of any stragglers left over . We are so thankful to Ryan, he was incredibly knowledgeable and professional- we are going to be telling everyone about how amazing his business is! ! Seriously if you’re thinking of calling someone for pest control, Prudential is the way to go!!!

Identifying and Assessing Storm Damage to Trees

When a storm hits, trees are often vulnerable to damage from strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning strikes. Identifying and assessing storm damage to trees is crucial in order to determine the appropriate course of action for mitigation and restoration.

Visual Inspection

The first step in identifying storm damage to trees is conducting a thorough visual inspection. Look for obvious signs such as broken or hanging branches, uprooted trees, or leaning trunks. Pay attention to any visible cracks or splits in the trunk or major limbs, as these can indicate structural damage.

Additionally, check for signs of decay, disease, or insect infestation, as weakened trees are more susceptible to storm damage. Look for fungal growth, dead branches, or holes in the trunk, which may indicate underlying issues that can contribute to storm damage.

Assessment of Tree Stability

After visually identifying storm damage, it is important to assess the stability of the affected trees. Look for signs that the tree has become structurally compromised, such as a significant lean, an uneven canopy, or exposed roots. These indicators suggest that the tree may pose a safety hazard and require immediate attention.

For assessing stability, consider factors such as the tree's overall health, root system condition, and the extent of damage to the trunk and branches. It may be necessary to consult with a professional arborist to accurately evaluate the stability of the tree and determine the appropriate course of action.

  • If the tree is deemed unstable and poses a safety risk, it may need to be removed.
  • If the tree is still structurally sound but has minor damage, pruning and trimming may be sufficient to mitigate the storm damage.
  • In cases where the damage is extensive but the tree is of high value, restorative measures such as cabling or bracing may be considered to provide additional support.

Remember, it is crucial to prioritize safety when dealing with storm-damaged trees. If you are unsure about the extent of damage or the appropriate action to take, it is always recommended to seek professional assistance from a reputable tree service company.

Trimming and pruning also play a crucial role in preventing potential hazards and promoting future growth.

Restoring Tree Health: Through strategic trimming and pruning, tree service experts can address various health issues that may affect trees. This includes removing branches affected by diseases, pests, or fungi, as well as those damaged by severe weather conditions. By eliminating these threats, the overall health of the tree can be restored, allowing it to thrive and withstand future challenges.

Enhancing Tree Structure: Trimming and pruning techniques help improve the structure and stability of trees. By selectively removing weak or crossing branches, professionals can reduce the risk of branch failure or tree collapse during storms or strong winds. Additionally, proper pruning promotes the development of a well-balanced crown and prevents the growth of multiple leaders, which can lead to structural issues in the future.

Promoting Growth and Fruit Production: Regular trimming and pruning stimulate new growth and increase the overall vigor of trees. By removing dead or overcrowded branches, the tree's resources can be redirected to healthier areas, encouraging the development of new shoots and foliage. Pruning fruit trees also helps improve air circulation and sunlight penetration, resulting in better fruit production and quality.

Preserving the Tree's Aesthetics: Trimming and pruning contribute to the visual appeal of trees by shaping them and maintaining their natural form. Removing excessive foliage and unwanted branches can enhance the tree's overall appearance, making it more visually pleasing and well-maintained. Proper pruning techniques also prevent the tree from becoming overgrown or misshapen, preserving its aesthetic value in the landscape.

Conclusion: Tree trimming and pruning are vital practices that restore tree health, improve structure, promote growth, and enhance aesthetics. Hiring a professional tree service in Houston ensures that these tasks are performed safely and effectively, preserving the beauty and longevity of your trees.

Tree Disease Prevention and Treatment after Storms

After a storm, trees are often left vulnerable to various diseases and infections. It is crucial to take preventive measures and provide necessary treatment to ensure the health and longevity of your trees.

Inspecting for Damage

Following a storm, it is important to thoroughly inspect your trees for any signs of damage. Look for broken branches, wounds, or cracks in the trunk, and any other visible signs of trauma. These damages can create entry points for diseases and pests, making it essential to address them promptly.

Pruning and Trimming

Pruning and trimming damaged or weakened branches can help prevent the spread of diseases. Removing broken or diseased branches reduces the risk of infections and promotes healthy regrowth. It is advisable to hire professional tree service in Houston for proper pruning techniques and to ensure the safety of both the tree and surrounding areas.

Applying Protective Treatments

Applying protective treatments, such as fungicides or insecticides, can help prevent or control tree diseases after a storm. These treatments can be used as a preventive measure or to address existing issues. However, it is essential to consult with an arborist or tree care specialist to determine the appropriate treatment for your specific tree species and the extent of damage.

Maintaining Tree Health

Regularly maintaining the overall health of your trees through proper watering, fertilization, and mulching can significantly reduce the risk of diseases after storms. Adequate nutrition and a strong immune system will enable trees to better withstand stress and recover from damage more effectively.

By taking proactive steps in tree disease prevention and treatment after storms, you can safeguard the beauty and value of your trees while promoting a healthy environment in your Houston area.
