Tree Service in Houston: Prompt Storm Damage Mitigation

Was at Lowes in cranberry 8/2/17 .me and my husband went there to buy some pipping we walk in the store and there was no workers around . I wanted to go to the Lawn and garden and they was having a sale 50% off on all greenery and scrubs so we seen some trees and they looked like they were half dead so i grab one of the trees and there was a tag on the table next to the other trees also . So anyway my husband looking for a flat cart there was none in the store and we couldnt find anyone . So my husband had to go out to the parking lot and get a cart . He seen a kid standing around and told him theres no carts or buggys and the kid said it happens smh . So were getting this big pipe still seen no one around me and my husband had to put this pipe on this flat cart we go up to pay for are things and the plants we got so the casher scans the tree and it was the full price and i told her there was a tag that said 50% she was very disrespectful and i told her i dont want it . She takes it out of my buggy and kinda just set the plant hard on the floor . My husband was really upset for the service we got and my husband said he will never walk into another Lowes again .he wants me to cut up my credit card leaf curl pear tree . Now the manager said she will give me the tree half price and that was nice of her . But she should of came up to the cashier and took care of the problem in the first place .we tried to call Lowes several times on our way home and there was no when theyre to even answer the phone and a recording would come on to give you options on what department you want well since the operator would not answer the phone my husband called back again and started pressing different buttons to see if anybody was working in any Department finally he pressed 5 which was the paint department and got a guy and he was talking to the guy and my husband asked are you the anyone working there at Lowes and the guy that works there said sometimes I think so lol so that dont say too much about Lowes when an employee makes a comment like that . And then finally after 10 minutes waiting on the phone my husband talks to the manager and my husband proceeded to tell her what was going on and all she kept doing was I apologize Im sorry Im so sorry I apologize well my husband wasnt accepting her apology because he was so aggravated and upset for what he had to go through in the store and then trying to call Lowes and nobody would answer the phone . Well he did tell the manager he will never step a foot in Lowes ever again . So even if they try to make the problem better its kind of late they should have solved the problem at that time when we were there . They need to teach their employees to respect the customers . And dont treat the customers like we are an inconvenience.

We just had our roof replaced and we were thrilled with our experience. The workers were cheerful and diligent, and did some pretty tricky areas with care and attention to detail. They left my gutters better than they found them. I heard horror stories of roofers hacking up trees and bushes to gain access so assumed they would have to cut back something, but they worked around my trees. This roof has a warranty for 15 years and will probably last 40 years. It is so nice to know my house is safe and sound under this great new roof.

When a storm hits, trees are often vulnerable to damage from strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning strikes. Identifying and assessing storm damage to trees is crucial in order to determine the appropriate course of action for mitigation and restoration.

Visual Inspection

The first step in identifying storm damage to trees is conducting a thorough visual inspection. Look for obvious signs such as broken or hanging branches, uprooted trees, or leaning trunks. Pay attention to any visible cracks or splits in the trunk or major limbs, as these can indicate structural damage.

Additionally, check for signs of decay, disease, or insect infestation, as weakened trees are more susceptible to storm damage. Look for fungal growth, dead branches, or holes in the trunk, which may indicate underlying issues that can contribute to storm damage.

Assessment of Tree Stability

After visually identifying storm damage, it is important to assess the stability of the affected trees. Look for signs that the tree has become structurally compromised, such as a significant lean, an uneven canopy, or exposed roots. These indicators suggest that the tree may pose a safety hazard and require immediate attention.

For assessing stability, consider factors such as the tree's overall health, root system condition, and the extent of damage to the trunk and branches. It may be necessary to consult with a professional arborist to accurately evaluate the stability of the tree and determine the appropriate course of action.

  • If the tree is deemed unstable and poses a safety risk, it may need to be removed.
  • If the tree is still structurally sound but has minor damage, pruning and trimming may be sufficient to mitigate the storm damage.
  • In cases where the damage is extensive but the tree is of high value, restorative measures such as cabling or bracing may be considered to provide additional support.

Remember, it is crucial to prioritize safety when dealing with storm-damaged trees. If you are unsure about the extent of damage or the appropriate action to take, it is always recommended to seek professional assistance from a reputable tree service company.
