Big Elm Removal Using Heavy Equipment in Houston

LawnBros is our favorite lawn care service, by far ! This summer, Brock removed six tree stumps on our property, giving our yard a much cleaner look . Brock and his team work hard, consistently going above and beyond what they are asked to do does cypress mulch attract termites . We most appreciate their professionalism, customer care, dependability, and strong work ethic.Beyond the professional service, Brock carries an upbeat attitude—and it’s evident that he loves what he does and the people he serves . It’s always a privilege to work with LawnBros; we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Our experience with Steel City Landscaping started out great, but then went downhill over time due to a series of unfulfilled promises, poor communication, and low quality work. They are obviously a high volume cookie-cutter shop, and that is probably fine for many people, but in our case, really did not work out. Their on site teams were very nice, but communication between those teams and the main office was quite poor. This resulted in them destroying my daughters carefully cultivated lavender plants in her own garden, which we had made very clear was not to be included in the landscape maintenance service. We also had issues with incomplete removal of old unwanted invasive bulbs as part of a major landscaping project, and then not fulfilling promises Jordan made to remove them in the spring. Also, most of the perennials that they installed for us last spring, died over the winter, despite them being under contract to care for everything and despite them having recommended or approved the selection of the plants. If you dont really care about the specifics of your yard but just want it kept tidy, these folks are probably fine. But if you have specific requirements, like not trimming trees back to aggressively, or avoiding a personal garden, you should know that they probably wont actually honor those requests unless you personally go outside and supervise their crew every time they come over.

We hired Charlie Nansteel to chip a large brush pile and grind 3 stumps on our property . We received a proposal totaling $550 and an estimated 2-3 week lead time . 6 weeks later, our brush pile was gone and our damage to our yard is truly shocking given the scope of the project (copy of proposal & unedited photos of the damage attached; additional details below.) Needless to say, we found Nansteel to be unprofessional, incompetent, and downright dangerous when a winch rope snapped in an attempt to remove a stuck truck, yet was attempted a second time . Would definitely not recommend.---------------After 5 weeks with little communication and one no-show, a crew arrived . A truck hauling a chipper was driven into our lot and got stuck, a winch was used to try to pull the truck out which snapped at least twice that I saw, leaving a crew member flinching away both times, and three hours had gone by with absolutely no progress aside from damage to my lawn . Once the truck was relocated, the crew utilized a bobcat to scrape the brush towards the chipper (the owner later admitted he was expecting his crew to pull the brush by hand to the street and that he was angry they brought equipment onto the lawn given such soggy conditions.) After nearly 7 hours, I saw how much damage was done and went out to speak to a crew member . I was told that Id need to talk to the main guy and he pointed to someone on site . I went inside waiting for them to finish cleaning up and suddenly noticed that they had all left without even speaking to me . I documented the damage (which included pieces of broken rope left on the ground, holes 6+ inches deep, extensive tire ruts including one on a neighbors lawn, a gatorade bottle, and a damaged tree.) I emailed Charlie and he did call me, ultimately saying he would send a crew to repair the damage . I sent an email to make sure I didnt misunderstand what he said he would fix and he never responded, but did send a crew so I assumed we were on the same page . They repaired most of the tire ruts and the holes, but refused to repair the neighbors lawn (first citing that several cars did the damage driving around their trucks, later citing that a UPS truck was responsible) palm tree fronds drooping . He also refused to repair the areas under the brush pile (citing I didnt make the weather . God did that.)We proposed several options to further rectify the mess, to which Charlie flat refused at one point saying something very similar to Ive taken things to the Supreme Court before . I dont care if I spend $3000 to prove Im right . We did the job and you owe us the $550 . If its not paid, youll hear from my lawyer . While Im far from a legal expert, I believe a matter such as this would be handled in small claims court or by a collection agency moreso than the supreme court and in my opinion this was used, at best, in an unprofessional manner and at worst, as an intimidation tactic. We hired a company to complete a fairly small job that we were actually planning to do ourselves . Needless to say, we wish we did.(For those who care, I did inform Charlie about the winch snapping twice and he genuinely did seem upset and appreciative of me telling him . Regardless of my dissatisfaction, I truly do hope he at least took steps to minimize the needlessly dangerous working conditions for his employees.)

Tyce and team provided great care for my lawn and recommended appropriate treatments to get weeds and will grass under control. They never missed an appointment date and were quick, yet thorough in all of the activities. Tyce personally handled some sprinkler work and tree care for me.I can recommend Handyman Lawns if you are looking for these yard services.
