We were very surprised that the fresh cut Christmas trees were not being cared for on our visit on 11/29. None of the Christmas trees had water in their stands.

I used Ramos Tree Service 5 different times over the last so many months . Below is a summary of each experience . The fact that his quotes are more than fair and the professionalism cant be overstated . They are very busy and if your situation is not urgent you may have to wait a bit but I would say Ramos Tree Service is worth the wait.1st Service: I had a county approved aerobic septic installed that had some issues . The county came out and said a tree needed to be cut way way back . Jimmy provided a very fair bid and his crew came out very quickly to respond to the countys requirement . They had to be very careful not to just drop the limbs since they could easily damage the septic field . When county came back out to inspect they said more needed to be cut but a crew member said if they cut any more of the very old large tree it would go into shock and die.. . the county let it go.2nd Service: I had a pine tree hanging over the roof that needed to be cut down gloomy scale on maple trees . Again, they had to be very careful not to damage the aerobic septic field . Again, their work was flawless and the quote again was very reasonable.3rd Service: A large tree limb fell over on a tree and I sent Jimmy a picture, he sent me a very good estimate again . His crew went there the next day and cut it off and removed it before they were to start their regular work day.4th Service: I had a pine tree hanging over the roof but wanted to save the tree . I asked if he could trim it back so it wasnt hanging over the roof . I got a very fair bid again . His team did that and also removed all the pine needles that built up on the roof at no extra charge.5th Service: I received a call from Jimmy that his crew finished trimming back the tree on the other house . He sent me pictures as I couldnt be there to see the result . I asked if he could stop by and provide a bid on a dead tree in which the crown was hanging over the roof . We only needed the crown cut off as my husband would cut the rest of it down . It was the end of his day but agreed to stop by . My husband bamboozled him in to cutting it right then . Jimmy was a champ and ended up cutting the whole tree down . I didnt get a bid on that one ahead of time as Jimmy just went at it but when he gave me his price, I certainly couldnt argue . It was beyond fair . At that time I didnt even know he had cut the whole tree down . I thought it was just the crown . I only saw what he had done after I got off of work and saw the whole tree was cut down. With all the strong winds weve had in the last few days, I think we were very lucky . The crown could have easily destroyed our roof . Thank you Jimmy and your staff!

Asked for a quote to remove branches from a tree between two houses, we have some visibly dead branches which I expected would be included in the quote. After the work was performed, all around the dead branch was clearly trimmed but the dead branch remained. For almost $1000 I would expect some communication from the crew leader or foreman that these branches were not included in the quote and an additional fee could take care of them. I spoke with Mike and he explained that if I wanted the dead branch to be removed I should have asked for a dead branch removal quote and not a tree trimming quote. So after paying for the tree trim I am left with a dead branch and no offer for even a re quote to take care of it.To the lay person this may not be an obvious request. My advice to anyone using this service is to be very specific on what you are asking for. Dead branches are not included in general trimming services.

Identifying Tree Health Issues and Potential Hazards

When it comes to maintaining the safety and aesthetics of your property, keeping an eye on the health of your trees is essential. Identifying tree health issues and potential hazards early on can help prevent damage to your property and ensure the well-being of your trees.

Signs of Tree Health Issues

There are several signs that can indicate potential health issues in trees. One of the most common signs is the presence of dead or dying branches. These branches may be brittle, discolored, or lack leaves. Another sign to look out for is the presence of fungi or mushrooms growing on the tree trunk or near the roots. This can be an indication of decay or rot within the tree.

Changes in the tree's foliage can also be a sign of health issues. Leaves that are discolored, have spots, or are abnormally small or large can indicate nutrient deficiencies, diseases, or pest infestations. Additionally, if you notice excessive leaf drop outside of the normal seasonal shedding, it may be a cause for concern.

Potential Tree Hazards

In addition to health issues, trees can also pose potential hazards if they are structurally compromised or located in unsafe positions. One common hazard is the presence of large deadwood or hanging branches that could fall and cause damage or injury. Leaning or uprooted trees, especially those close to structures or power lines, can also be hazardous.

Root issues can also contribute to tree hazards. Trees with shallow or weakened root systems may be more susceptible to uprooting during storms or heavy winds. It's important to keep an eye out for signs of root damage, such as soil erosion, exposed roots, or leaning trunks.

Regular inspections by tree experts can help identify these health issues and potential hazards early on. By addressing these issues promptly, you can ensure the safety of your property and the longevity of your trees.
