Right before I was ready to sign on the dotted line with another group, I met Barry Burkholder from the Burkholder Group. Initial impression was one of confidence, competence, genuine customer service, and desire to partner with his clients so they are 100% happy with the outcome. Wow! Imagine that! The Burkholder Brothers are a well-oiled machine with a comprehensive business plan from soup to nuts designing, executing, and caring for landscapes. We went through the blueprint process with Barry and his designer, Deb Wright with ease. Deb has a good read on people which allows her to not only anticipate but ensure that expectations are set which is very important. She listened to ideas that we brought forward, and helped to reconcile differences that I had with my husband about the project. The job started in early March 2018. During this time, we experienced 4 Noreasters, flooding, and what at times, felt like mud slides. The weather was NOT our friend. This was a complex job that involved re-building a swell in the back yard, underground piping, electrical installations, pool decking, a retainer wall, removing many trees, re-configuring and re-mapping, and the list goes on. Barrys crew were very hard working, professional, pleasant, and they cleaned up. They genuinely appeared to enjoy working for the Burkholder Brothers. One landscaper in particular, Jason, did an outstanding job. Every time I saw him, he was doing his craft, with conviction. He took so much care and pride in his work, he truly has a passion for nature and beauty. I am incredibly appreciative to him. At one point, when we were having what felt like flooding to me, I called Barry and he sent the Project Manager right over to investigate. Dan, the project manager, was there in no time, which put my mind at ease. Dan was very responsive to my emails throughout the project. Although Barry is one of the owners, I felt he was accessible at all times to me as well, and always reassured and delivered. He did not disappear after being awarded the contract as many business owners do. Another thing I really appreciated is that the contract was very clear, outlining the project and time points of payments which allowed me to do my financial planning. There were no hidden fees or issues that popped up outside of the contract. So I believe that most things were assessed properly, and accounted for on their end; and that is very important for the success of a project.I bought my outside furniture from Burkholder Brothers and worked with Melody. Melody is very helpful, pleasant, polite, and demonstrated great customer service. She was patience with me when I changed my mind, at least twice, adding, and removing items from the order list. It was fun to work with Melody, and I felt she was genuinely excited for me which is hard to find in customer service. I recently had the furniture delivered and it is beautiful. Thank you Melody! If you are looking for a comprehensive approach to landscape design large or small, I highly recommend Burkholder Brothers. You will be very happy with their professionalism, expectation management, customer service, work ethic, and design abilities. You may pay a little bit more but you will get what you expect, and be very happy with the outcome. You will not have to think too much once they start the project, as there is a great level of communication which is key. Your mind will be at ease. Their employees seem happy, and I think that says it a lot about the group. I have a restored faith in these type of industries now thanks to Barry and his team.

I used Ramos Tree Service 5 different times over the last so many months . Below is a summary of each experience . The fact that his quotes are more than fair and the professionalism cant be overstated . They are very busy and if your situation is not urgent you may have to wait a bit but I would say Ramos Tree Service is worth the wait.1st Service: I had a county approved aerobic septic installed that had some issues . The county came out and said a tree needed to be cut way way back . Jimmy provided a very fair bid and his crew came out very quickly to respond to the countys requirement . They had to be very careful not to just drop the limbs since they could easily damage the septic field . When county came back out to inspect they said more needed to be cut but a crew member said if they cut any more of the very old large tree it would go into shock and die.. . the county let it go.2nd Service: I had a pine tree hanging over the roof that needed to be cut down . Again, they had to be very careful not to damage the aerobic septic field . Again, their work was flawless and the quote again was very reasonable.3rd Service: A large tree limb fell over on a tree and I sent Jimmy a picture, he sent me a very good estimate again . His crew went there the next day and cut it off and removed it before they were to start their regular work day.4th Service: I had a pine tree hanging over the roof but wanted to save the tree . I asked if he could trim it back so it wasnt hanging over the roof when do deer rub velvet off antlers . I got a very fair bid again . His team did that and also removed all the pine needles that built up on the roof at no extra charge.5th Service: I received a call from Jimmy that his crew finished trimming back the tree on the other house . He sent me pictures as I couldnt be there to see the result . I asked if he could stop by and provide a bid on a dead tree in which the crown was hanging over the roof . We only needed the crown cut off as my husband would cut the rest of it down . It was the end of his day but agreed to stop by . My husband bamboozled him in to cutting it right then . Jimmy was a champ and ended up cutting the whole tree down . I didnt get a bid on that one ahead of time as Jimmy just went at it but when he gave me his price, I certainly couldnt argue . It was beyond fair . At that time I didnt even know he had cut the whole tree down . I thought it was just the crown . I only saw what he had done after I got off of work and saw the whole tree was cut down. With all the strong winds weve had in the last few days, I think we were very lucky . The crown could have easily destroyed our roof . Thank you Jimmy and your staff!

I lost a tree due to the recent storm/tornado in Bucks county..IMPOSSIBLE getting anyone out even for just a quote to take care of it..CALLED JMG, he showed up IMMEDIATELY and took care of the big stuff temporarily until.he could get back out 2 days later...the price I was quoted was more than half LESS than 2 other places we did finally get quotes for. VERY VERY REASONABLE TO THE POINT I EVEN OFFERED TO PAY MORE BECAUSE THE PRICE HE QUOTED WAS SO LOW..I DIDNT FEEL IT WAS FAIR FOR.THE AMOUNT OF WORK & THE PRICE HE GAVE ME..THE WORK IS.NOW COMPLETED AND HE, AND HIS CREW, CLEANED UP EVERY LAST LEAF ON THE LAWN! PHENOMENAL WORK! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! THANK YALL SO MUCH! AND WILL SEE YOU SOON FOR FUTURE WORK!! ??????jo

The first step in the process is to assess the tree and its surroundings. This involves determining the size and condition of the elm tree, as well as identifying any potential hazards or obstacles that may impact the removal process. It is crucial to consider factors such as the tree's proximity to buildings, power lines, and other structures.

Once the assessment is complete, the next step is to carefully plan the removal strategy. This includes determining the best approach to take in order to safely remove the large elm tree without causing damage to surrounding property or endangering the tree service professionals involved. The plan may involve the use of cranes or other heavy machinery to safely dismantle the tree piece by piece.

Prior to the actual removal, the tree service team will take measures to ensure the safety of everyone involved. It is important to follow all safety protocols and guidelines throughout the entire process.

During the removal process, the tree service professionals will carefully cut and remove the large elm tree, taking care to control its descent and prevent any damage to the surrounding area. The use of heavy equipment such as cranes and chainsaws allows for precise and controlled removal, minimizing the risk of accidents or property damage.

Once the tree has been successfully removed, the final step is to clean up the debris and restore the area to its original condition. This may involve grinding stump remnants, removing branches and logs, and disposing of any remaining waste. The goal is to leave the site clean and free of any potential hazards.

Environmental Considerations during Large Elm Removal

When it comes to large elm removal, it is essential to take into account various environmental considerations. Removing a large elm tree involves the use of heavy equipment and machinery, which can have a significant impact on the surrounding environment.

One important consideration is the potential damage to the soil and surrounding vegetation. The heavy equipment used during the removal process can cause soil compaction, which can negatively affect the growth and health of nearby plants and trees. It is crucial to minimize soil disturbance and take measures to protect the root systems of neighboring vegetation.

Another environmental consideration is the impact on wildlife habitats. Elm trees provide shelter and food sources for various species of birds, insects, and small animals. Removing a large elm tree can disrupt these habitats and potentially displace wildlife. Arborists and tree service professionals should carefully assess the tree's ecological value and consider alternative measures to preserve habitats whenever possible.

The disposal of tree debris is also an environmental concern during large elm removal. Proper disposal methods should be employed to minimize the impact on the environment. Recycling or repurposing the wood from the removed tree can be a more sustainable option than simply sending it to a landfill.

Additionally, during large elm removal, there may be risks associated with the use of pesticides or herbicides. It is important to follow proper protocols and regulations to ensure the safe and responsible use of chemicals, minimizing potential harm to the environment and human health.

Overall, environmental considerations play a crucial role in large elm removal. When it comes to large elm removal with heavy equipment in Houston, it is essential to prioritize the health of the surrounding trees. Removing a large elm tree can be a complex and potentially damaging process, but with proper care and attention, the health of nearby trees can be preserved.

  • Assessment and Planning: Before beginning the removal process, it is crucial to assess the condition and health of the surrounding trees. A certified arborist should inspect the trees to determine their vulnerability to potential damage during the removal. Based on this assessment, a detailed plan should be developed to minimize any negative impact on the health of these trees.
  • Protective Measures: Implementing protective measures is essential to safeguard the health of surrounding trees. This may include installing barriers or fencing around the trees to prevent accidental damage from heavy equipment or falling debris. Additionally, the use of proper cutting techniques and equipment can minimize the risk of injury to the trees.
  • Root and Soil Preservation: During large elm removal, it is crucial to preserve the integrity of the surrounding trees' root systems and soil. This can be achieved by carefully excavating around the trees, avoiding any unnecessary disturbance to the roots. The soil should be adequately protected to maintain its moisture and nutrient content, as well as prevent erosion.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Even after the large elm removal process is complete, ongoing monitoring and maintenance are necessary to ensure the health of the surrounding trees. Regular inspections by a certified arborist can identify any signs of stress, disease, or damage caused by the removal process. Prompt action can then be taken to address these issues and promote the long-term health of the remaining trees.

By following these guidelines and prioritizing the health of the surrounding trees, tree service professionals can successfully remove large elms with heavy equipment in Houston while minimizing the negative impact on the ecosystem and preserving the natural beauty of the area.
