Dollar Tree have the best customer service

After my go to nursery closed in Austin, I was at a loss to find a place that had decent trees stone driveway border ideas . The trees at most places near Austin look sick and are way over priced . I took a leap faith and called Hope Valley Farms and talked to Andi . First off, it was nice to talk to a person who took the time to answer all my questions . Second, I was absolutely shocked at the prices . Seriously, at my go to place in Austin I paid $850 for an 8 foot compact cherry laurel plus $425 to have it planted . At hope valley, I just paid $170 for a 6 foot compact cherry laurel and $130 for the planting fee . It was so cheap I bought 16 of them . The tree quality was far and away the best I have ever seen . Everything looked like it was thriving . Take into account I went at the end of December . It was only about 31 miles from Hutto and believe me it was well worth the drive . I will be recommending them from now on . Update: today they came to install my 16 trees . The owner Steve showed up on time at noon and introduced himself and his crew . The trees where unloaded and his crew stayed until about 7 p.m . to get the job done . These trees are in perfect alignment and look fantastic . The use a hand shovel at first to locate any sprinkler lines then us a jack hammer with a shovel attachment to get the hole done . They came across 3 sprinkler lines and didnt break a single one . They fertilized the trees with a special blend they developed and Steve said I should be good for a year because it is time released . They then mulched the holes and they cleaned up my yard afterwards . I couldnt be more pleased . They have definitely earned my business from now on . This kind of customer service existed years ago but I thought was lost forever . Im glad to see a business that truly cares . So refreshing.

When a storm hits, trees are often vulnerable to damage from strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning strikes. Identifying and assessing storm damage to trees is crucial in order to determine the appropriate course of action for mitigation and restoration.

Visual Inspection

The first step in identifying storm damage to trees is conducting a thorough visual inspection. Look for obvious signs such as broken or hanging branches, uprooted trees, or leaning trunks. Pay attention to any visible cracks or splits in the trunk or major limbs, as these can indicate structural damage.

Additionally, check for signs of decay, disease, or insect infestation, as weakened trees are more susceptible to storm damage. Look for fungal growth, dead branches, or holes in the trunk, which may indicate underlying issues that can contribute to storm damage.

Assessment of Tree Stability

After visually identifying storm damage, it is important to assess the stability of the affected trees. Look for signs that the tree has become structurally compromised, such as a significant lean, an uneven canopy, or exposed roots. These indicators suggest that the tree may pose a safety hazard and require immediate attention.

For assessing stability, consider factors such as the tree's overall health, root system condition, and the extent of damage to the trunk and branches. It may be necessary to consult with a professional arborist to accurately evaluate the stability of the tree and determine the appropriate course of action.

  • If the tree is deemed unstable and poses a safety risk, it may need to be removed.
  • If the tree is still structurally sound but has minor damage, pruning and trimming may be sufficient to mitigate the storm damage.
  • In cases where the damage is extensive but the tree is of high value, restorative measures such as cabling or bracing may be considered to provide additional support.

Remember, it is crucial to prioritize safety when dealing with storm-damaged trees. If you are unsure about the extent of damage or the appropriate action to take, it is always recommended to seek professional assistance from a reputable tree service company.
