Tree Service in Houston: Prompt Storm Damage Mitigation

I used Ramos Tree Service 5 different times over the last so many months . Below is a summary of each experience . The fact that his quotes are more than fair and the professionalism cant be overstated . They are very busy and if your situation is not urgent you may have to wait a bit but I would say Ramos Tree Service is worth the wait.1st Service: I had a county approved aerobic septic installed that had some issues . The county came out and said a tree needed to be cut way way back . Jimmy provided a very fair bid and his crew came out very quickly to respond to the countys requirement . They had to be very careful not to just drop the limbs since they could easily damage the septic field . When county came back out to inspect they said more needed to be cut but a crew member said if they cut any more of the very old large tree it would go into shock and die.. . the county let it go.2nd Service: I had a pine tree hanging over the roof that needed to be cut down . Again, they had to be very careful not to damage the aerobic septic field . Again, their work was flawless and the quote again was very reasonable.3rd Service: A large tree limb fell over on a tree and I sent Jimmy a picture, he sent me a very good estimate again . His crew went there the next day and cut it off and removed it before they were to start their regular work day.4th Service: I had a pine tree hanging over the roof but wanted to save the tree . I asked if he could trim it back so it wasnt hanging over the roof . I got a very fair bid again . His team did that and also removed all the pine needles that built up on the roof at no extra charge.5th Service: I received a call from Jimmy that his crew finished trimming back the tree on the other house . He sent me pictures as I couldnt be there to see the result . I asked if he could stop by and provide a bid on a dead tree in which the crown was hanging over the roof . We only needed the crown cut off as my husband would cut the rest of it down . It was the end of his day but agreed to stop by . My husband bamboozled him in to cutting it right then . Jimmy was a champ and ended up cutting the whole tree down . I didnt get a bid on that one ahead of time as Jimmy just went at it but when he gave me his price, I certainly couldnt argue . It was beyond fair . At that time I didnt even know he had cut the whole tree down . I thought it was just the crown . I only saw what he had done after I got off of work and saw the whole tree was cut down. With all the strong winds weve had in the last few days, I think we were very lucky . The crown could have easily destroyed our roof houseplant green leaves with white spots . Thank you Jimmy and your staff!

Valley Power is a wonderful local family owned and operated business! It’s rare to find such a gem in the modern era of super box stores and online shopping. They are the region’s premiere source of Stihl, Honda, Cub cadet and much more.My first time going to Valley Power was as a homeowner and volunteer. I stopped in to browse for a small chainsaw and leaf blower. The thing that impressed me was that the merchandise was posted with prices and the staff was very helpful. Unfortunately, I chose price over quality and purchased some echo power equipment from another local dealer. Within one year I had issues with the echo equipment and was treated poorly by the local echo dealer. I decided to cut my losses and sell the Echo equipment. My transaction at Valley Power was smooth and I decided to purchase all pro grade equipment because I enjoyed working outside so much.Fast forward many years later and I am the owner of a local tree care and timber management company and Valley Power is my only choice for chainsaws, blowers, hand tools, etc. The place is no fuss. I go in and pay a fair price and receive great advice. Things do break due to misuse and also wearing out. The tree business is hard on equipment. Whenever I take items in for repair it comes back better than when I dropped it off. There are many places to purchase your outdoor equipment but only ONE that will not let you down and that’s Valley Power!Jonathan J. They did an okay good job with the trees, not exceptional, but okay . One of my biggest issues was that the workers were told to just do the bare minimum because Justin had undercut the price of a competitor . Instead of talking to us about mispricing things, he just told them to only do the very minimum. My other issues were in communication, showing up late (hours after expected) and still leaving in a rush with a bunch of branches behind that we have to take care of aphids elm trees . The icing on the cake was one of the employees drinking on the job . Im very uncomfortable with someone drinking, throwing the bottle on the ground near the trees, and using a chainsaw . Thats a homeowner insurance nightmare . When I asked Justin about it, he brushed it off and said I dont know anything about what theyre doing.

This place saved my life!! I’m forever grateful for the ranch and all the amazing people who work there . I consider this community my family. The after care program and IOP program are just as amazing. It’s a revolutionary experience and I thankful for all the staff who has supported me in my journey. I came to Dove tree November 2021 , I was in a very bad addiction and was in a very dark place at that time , I faced losing everything I loved , my husband, my children and life as I knew it . I had a lot of childhood trauma and a previous abusive marriage and had never delt with any of it before and had been a addict for the majority of my life . When I came in dove tree I was completely exhausted of living in that disparity, and the staff was there to take me in and show me a way out of the darkness. I found freedom from trauma and addiction and a new way to live life through the principles taught to me through dove tree . I went on to live in sober living for 30 days , after dove tree and continue to be apart of the alumni with dove tree . In this new life I have found such peace and purpose, and had I not gone into treatment, I’d not be on this earth today . I thank everyone who has supported me from the depths of my heart and I’d recommend this place to anyone who’s needing help suffering from addiction. Today I am 7 months sober and it’s amazing!

When a storm hits, trees are often vulnerable to damage from strong winds, heavy rain, and lightning strikes. Identifying and assessing storm damage to trees is crucial in order to determine the appropriate course of action for mitigation and restoration.

Visual Inspection

The first step in identifying storm damage to trees is conducting a thorough visual inspection. Look for obvious signs such as broken or hanging branches, uprooted trees, or leaning trunks. Pay attention to any visible cracks or splits in the trunk or major limbs, as these can indicate structural damage.

Additionally, check for signs of decay, disease, or insect infestation, as weakened trees are more susceptible to storm damage. Look for fungal growth, dead branches, or holes in the trunk, which may indicate underlying issues that can contribute to storm damage.

Assessment of Tree Stability

After visually identifying storm damage, it is important to assess the stability of the affected trees. Look for signs that the tree has become structurally compromised, such as a significant lean, an uneven canopy, or exposed roots. These indicators suggest that the tree may pose a safety hazard and require immediate attention.

For assessing stability, consider factors such as the tree's overall health, root system condition, and the extent of damage to the trunk and branches. It may be necessary to consult with a professional arborist to accurately evaluate the stability of the tree and determine the appropriate course of action.

  • If the tree is deemed unstable and poses a safety risk, it may need to be removed.
  • If the tree is still structurally sound but has minor damage, pruning and trimming may be sufficient to mitigate the storm damage.
  • In cases where the damage is extensive but the tree is of high value, restorative measures such as cabling or bracing may be considered to provide additional support.

Remember, it is crucial to prioritize safety when dealing with storm-damaged trees. If you are unsure about the extent of damage or the appropriate action to take, it is always recommended to seek professional assistance from a reputable tree service company.
